A Timeless Wedding in Lansing, Michigan
Joci and Brock’s wedding at Eagle Eye Golf Club in Lansing, Michigan was the perfect blend of elegance and heartfelt joy. With sweeping views of the course, soft golden light, and a peaceful fall breeze, their day felt like something sacred. There was intention in every detail and warmth in every interaction. It was such a joy to witness their love unfold so beautifully.
Getting Ready
From the moment I arrived at the bride’s Airbnb in the morning, I knew how special Joci & Brock’s wedding day was going to be. The morning was calm and full of anticipation. Joci got ready a few miles away from her venue in the airbnb, surrounded by her closest friends. There were hype songs playing in the background, a few quiet tears, and so much laughter. Her gown had the most beautiful train, and her bridesmaids looked stunning in reddish-orange dresses. Joci & her mom took a few quiet moments to zip up her dress. Afterwards, she had the sweetest first look with her bridesmaids. She and her dad also shared a beautiful, tearful first look that I was so honored to document. Pro tip: there are so many ways to do a first look that isn’t with the groom!
Although brief, the “getting ready” portion of the wedding day is always one of my favorite parts of shooting. There are so many small, subtle moments that set the tone for the rest of the day.

A Romantic Outdoor Ceremony
The ceremony took place on a beautiful court overlooking the course, framed by a white pergola, fall florals and rolling green hills. The breeze gently lifted Joci’s veil, the light hit just right, and everything about the setting felt peaceful and sacred. They exchanged their rings and personal vows and took a moment to pray together before walking back down the aisle as husband and wife. It was tender, meaningful, and so full of love.

Golden Hour Portraits on the Course
Golden hour gave us the most magical light! Joci and Brock wandered over the hills while the sun dipped lower, creating a STUNNING sunset. These are always some of my favorite moments—the part of the day where everything slows down, and the couple can just breathe and be together. Their portraits felt romantic, joyful, and timeless in the best way. They were truly open to anything I suggested. You can totally see their “go-with-the-flow” attitude shine through in their portraits!

A Candlelit Celebration
Inside the reception space, the room was full of soft light, fall florals & pumpkins, and elegant touches that matched the tone of the day perfectly. There were teary toasts, belly laughs, and a dance floor that stayed full all night. My second shooter and I made sure to take advantage of the photobooth! One of my favorite parts of the reception was the “Thunderstruck” game that completely filled the dance floor. If you’re not familiar with the game, everyone forms a circle with a drink in hand while the song “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC plays. Everytime the word “thunder” is said, one person drinks until the word is said again. Then it switches to the next person in the circle. It was so much fun to watch. Even Grandma had fun playing!
